Teak:

The first plantations on the island of Java were planted by the Dutch. A limited number of trees are allowed to be felled annually by the Indonesian government and an equal amount of reforestation is strictly controlled to ensure there is no detrimental effect to the natural resources of Java. Ocean Garden Furniture only use Teak sourced from PERUM PERHUTANI forestry plantations which requires a re-forestation certificate directly from the Indonesian government. We source the premium heartwood Grade A teak for our products, made of trees of not less than 80 years of age. We use the highest quality, honey coloured, close grained Javanese Teak which is naturally high in natural oil and rubber content. We then kiln dry the wood to a moisture level of between 12-14% to ensure your furniture will not crack or warp. Each timber component is then precision cut for a perfect fit and finely sanded three times to bring out the soft, smooth shine of the natural oils. Teak is one of the strongest and most durable of woods making it an ideal choice for outdoor furniture use. It is highly resistant to rotting and almost impervious to the effect of sun, rain, frost or snow. Teak requires very little maintenance and can be left outside to age gracefully to a light silver grey colour.

Stainless Steel:

Ocean Garden Furniture manufactures using hardwearing, premium grade 304, polished stainless steel to add a contemporary feel to our designer and contemporary collections.

Aluminium:

We use only prime virgin aluminium which is powder coated to ensure the longevity of your furniture.

All Weather Weave:

Our woven furniture is produced using the best quality man-made fibres which are specifically designed and engineered for outdoor use. We use Viro® weave made by Ferrari, which has been extensively tested to withstand temperatures ranging from -70°c to +80°c and is completely weather resistant, washable and durable. It is also non-toxic, eco friendly and UV resistant. We also use Rehau®, a fibre that is treated using an extrusion process to create a highly durable synthetic fibre.

Sling:

High quality Batyline® sling is used in our garden furniture which is fade, mildew and tear resistant. Batyline® is a woven PVC vinyl non stretch yarn which is stylish, comfortable and practical.
